The Galway City Development Plan 2023-2029 sets out the policies and objectives for the development of the City over the plan period. The plan has been prepared in accordance with the steps set out in the Planning and Development Acts. The plan came into effect on Wednesday 4th of January 2023.
Ministers Direction Pursuant to Section 31
The Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 31 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) (“the Act”), and consequent to a recommendation made to him by the Office of the Planning Regulator under section 31AN(4) of the Act issued a Direction to Galway City Council on matters relating to the Galway City Development Plan 2023-2029 dated 3 May 2023. Consequently, the City Development Plan has been amended accordingly. A copy of the Direction is contained in Appendix 6 of the City Development Plan.
