Chapter 3: Housing and Sustainable Neighbourhoods
To the Senior Planner,
I wish to make a submission in relation to your preparation of the Galway City Development Plan for 2023-2029.
The area I wish to make a submission for is Munster Avenue which is located on the west side of Galway City. I believe that Munster Avenue is a unique inner-city residential area that is worthy of specific reference and protections in the Draft Plan for 2023-2029. I believe that Munster Avenue should be given special recognition as an inner-city residential area and afforded protection from intensive development. The area is sandwiched between the other long standing residential areas of the Claddagh and the West and has been a residential area since its development in 1940.
I would strongly disagree to the changing of the zoning objective of the area to anything other than residential.
